Photo Adventure 1.2.8

In my hometown, a couple of years ago, the city voted to have a new school built to house Kindergarden through 6th grade.  The old buildings (Parkview Middle School, Garnett Elementary School and Coffinberry Kindergarden) are no longer in use.  They have already completed the new building and started demolishing Garnett, and Coffinberry is next on the list.  Today I decided that I need to go to both of them to take photographs while they stand.  Garnett, being partially demolished made for some interesting shots, and Coffinberry, which has been abandoned, has this creepy Chernobyl thing going on.

As far as I know the city hasn’t really done anything to photo document the buildings that students have been attending since as far back as the 1960’s, which is terribly unfortunate.  Today after I came back from visiting these locations and shooting there, I emailed the city and asked if they are doing anything about it before these buildings are completely gone forever and asked them if they are not, that they’d consider giving me access to Coffinberry before they start demolishing it in the spring sometime. I’ll keep everyone updated is this goes anywhere.
