left overs
I recently have rediscovered a boat load of photography that I had done during my Photography 28000 class at Kent State University. I was often really focused on achieving a certain goal that some of the shots I was taking didn’t fall into the right category to fit the requirements and I over looked them completely. So they are about a year old, but I wanted to share them anyhow. Take a look:

The ones at the top of the page are from the Quality Muffler Shop just outside of Kent on Mogadore Road. I had passed it at one point the year previous with my father as we were making our way to Interstate 76. I had noticed that the property was up for sale, but with an eyesore like this around, its not surprised that they recently knocked it down. I am not sure how long it had been unattended but it looks like a decent portion of time had passed. I eventually made my way back to the location sometime in April of 2007 and took a bunch of photographs. The ones I posted where some of the better ones. I really enjoy being able to see and experience these types of things. There is a bit of serenity in knowing that this place was used, loud, and now that it is not used is silent, empty and in complete disrepair. I also took photos that day of an abandoned house on that same property. I’ll post them next.
The photos after that of the bridge are from the section of the Cleveland Metroparks where Interstate 480 and Brookpark Road cross the valley. It has become something I am used to seeing, but I will never forget how impressive it was as a child to see these massive structures built solely for the purpose of mass transportation. They are getting pretty old now, and the Brookpark Road one being the most attractive, showing a difference in the technology used between when the bridges were built and how much they can withstand. I visit these sites fairly often, I’m about due to go back again, so you can expect to see more as I look for new angles I haven’t hit yet.
Till next time.
