finished review

I finished the Sophomore Portfolio Review Tuesday afternoon.  It was a refreshing feeling to know that it was finally over with.  After doing the illustration monday and then just completing the design exam (which I was more concerned about than the illustration) I realized that not only was I done, I was happy with the work I had completed.  The design exam was a paste up mechanical, which I wasn’t happy about.  For those of you who do not know, it is the old way of doing things where you cut out your text (“copy”), images and titles and paste them using whatever method you choose (studio tac, double sided tape, etc) and go to town.  I noticed that everyone in my class taking the exam did the same thing and started cutting things out.  Instead I started doodling out ideas and had something completed fairly quickly.  From there I tweaked it a bit and then got bored of being there and left about a half hour earlier than anyone else was.  So that was refreshing.

 I probably should have worked on it longer, but once I had an idea I decided to stick with it.  

In other news, I just completed my third project for Intro to 3D Graphic Design.  I’ll put up some pictures from the process book and photos I took like I did for the MATERIA Wine bottle project…. probably tomorrow. Till then.
