Pop-up Promotion
For my final project in my Intro to 3D Graphic Design class, we were given the task of creating a pop-up promotion piece for a museum of our choice. I picked Doctor Who, the long running BBC sci-fi television show that is immensely popular. (Learn more here or here). The Tardis, his space and time traveling device is larger on the inside than it is on the outside, so I tried to play off of that with promotion and make it fold open and turn into a sort of structure. I think the idea turned out rather well, but the construction of the project was a bit more work than I had anticipated, and wish that we had a bit more than 2 weeks to work on the project. The fun part was creating the turbulent time vortex effect that is on the inside, perhaps I’ll create a simple tutorial someday.

Also here is an image of that coffee cup illustration in use. It was for a two page spread that set the feel for the entire article about coffee locations around Cleveland which have been critiqued by the author of this fictional piece. It wasn’t meant to be a final version, but rather a quick way to give the look and feel of the magazine.
