Abandoned House and more

I went on another photo adventure the other day.  This time to a different section of Kent.  As it turns out, on a fairly populated and traveled road there was a house that looked more like a time capsule than anything else.  Inside there was rotting water damaged walls, dusty and broken tables, chairs and torn up floors.  Windows were broken on the outside, lights appeared broken or damaged, bedrooms sat untouched and the whole place looked… well looked like it hadn’t been touched in at least 15 years or more.  The weird part… was that the grass had been cut recently.

After the creepy house I found my way to a school that I had never seen, tucked away and surrounded by an older suburban development that looked like it came from the 1960’s or so.  It was empty, since it is summer, but this lead me to a forest path that eventually took me to Lake Road where I found another path to train tracks.  This adventure wasn’t so much about dilapidated structures as the one previously, this time was more about finding something new.  I learned a bit about the area from it, and have plans for more adventures in this area.  Night was coming once I reached the train tracks though, so I’ll be taking pictures next time too.

More soon!

PS: The speaking to VCD 1 students thing went fairly well actually.  It was a little nerve-racking, but I survived.  Apparently I’m pretty good at just winging it and speaking in front of people.  I think Shawn Simmons was just being nice though, I didn’t totally agree… though I’m very complimented.  So thats sorta good news!
