Free Comic Book Day is a single day each year that many comic stores across North America give away 100% free comic books to any customer that comes in. It is the first Saturday in every May and many publishers participate.
John Dudas of Carol and John’s Comic Book Shop asked me to make the ad (running in full color on the back cover of The Independent) and the handout postcard for the event this year. Be sure to look out for the postcard here soon.
Make sure you attend May 1st and get your free comics. For what is available this year check here:

Nailed it!
As usual, time is always an issue for me, but I was a bit surprised that I managed to make some to keep a promise and help out John Dudas of Carol and John’s Comics. I had to finish my Plushform for the Midwest Plushform Show taking place between November 7th and 29th of 2008 at Carol and John’s Comic Shop on the Westside of Cleveland and Shoparooni on the Eastside. This, like my Munny, is my first time making something out of a Plushform. It was a bit of a learning experience working with a stuffed form. I do wish though, that I had more free time so that I could have done a lot more with it, but thats what next time is for. The good news though, is that if the Plushform sells, half of the proceeds go to charity.
I named him “Nailed it!”:

I made the ribs out of sculpy and used some of theatrical blood I bought recently from a Halloween store here in Kent. We’ll see how it does at the show, good luck to the Midwest Plushform Show and all of the entries, as well as a thank you to Carol and John’s for asking me to participate. If you are from the Cleveland area, go there, even if comics aren’t your thing, there is a little bit of a lot of stuff, I’m sure you can find something you’ll like there.
