Part of my campaign to “save” Experimental Type from be canceled at Kent State University next semester. There is only 5 people signed up for this class and I’m doing my best to change that. The class offers students a unique chance to use metal and wood type on several Vandercook Universal presses.

Answer: BOO ties
I am now working on a Halloween card for Experimental Type. I’m really interested in finally taking this class. I’ve been fortunate to have friends in the right places to help me get experience working with type and the letterpress the last few years. But now I really get to produce projects and I am really looking forward to it. This is a work in progress sample.
Up next: making the illustration, finishing type plate, and sample prints before my first run at the press.
